Delicious Goulash – a.k.a. hamburger and macaroni

When I was little, my mother made a delicious dish that she always

called goulash.  I have no idea where she got the name, but that was
okay with me. I loved it when the smell of goulash permeated the house!
This is a great meal to prepare on a cold wintry day, for lunch or dinner. It
only has four main ingredients that you most likely have in your kitchen. Give it
a try. It is easy to make and one that I am sure you and your family will
consider a “keeper”.
Goulash
Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 can diced tomatoes
1 medium onion diced
1 cup of elbow macaroni
salt and pepper
Directions:
Brown hamburger and diced onion. Drain. Add diced tomatoes, about a can
of water (I just use the tomato can, because the water gets out the goodness
of what is left in the can), salt and pepper and macaroni. Let this simmer on
medium low heat until macaroni swells and is cooked.  Serve on a plate or
bowl and garnish with parmesan cheese. You can have a small salad with
this dish, or let the goulash be the meal. A slice of crispy garlic toast is always
wonderful with it as well! Enjoy!
Blessings,
Penny
