Farmhouse Kitchen Tour
Welcome to the Farmhouse Summer Kitchen Tour! When we built our house, there were some must haves for my kitchen. Iâm going to show you some of my favorite things in my kitchen and also what you will be seeing in my kitchen all summer long!Â
Flowers! I love bringing flowers from the garden into the kitchen. It just brightens everything up, and makes it feel so fresh and welcoming. Here you see lots of pink hydrangeas around the farmhouse sink. I always enjoy decorating this area. Who doesnât need a cheery spot while doing the dishes. A farmhouse sink was definitely high on the list as a must have in the kitchen. This sink is by Kohler and the detail on the front is always a conversation piece. However, itâs not just for doing dishes! Youâll always see it full of beautiful blooms in just about every season!Farm Fresh Eggs! Every farmhouse kitchen needs fresh eggs! Our hens provide us with delicious eggs most of the year. Fresh eggs can be left out on the counter for several weeks as long as they havenât been washed. Another conversation piece in the kitchen is this lighted egg holder. I always get questions about it. I purchased it several years ago from a wholesale company and twinkled it up with some battery operated lights. You will see it in a lot of my Eggvignette posts over on IG. For more info click here.I wanted a pretty plate rack, and designed this one here, conveniently located beside the farmhouse kitchen sink. It is so fun changing it up throughout the different seasons and especially during the holidays. A large kitchen island was another important design element in my kitchen. This island is such a workhorse. I wanted a place for cookbooks, pots and pans, spices, and trash receptacles. This island does it all and at the other end are shelves for styling and all things pretty. During the holidays, the island serves as a buffet for all of our traditional yummy dishes. Plenty of conversations are had around this kitchen island.Fresh Produce: Here you see colorful fresh veggies from the garden. Tomatoes and cucumbers are always a summertime favorite around here! Another favorite of mine is this Country Charm stove. It is a reproduction of an old wood cook stove. It is electric and I have cooked many meals on it throughout the years. I purchased this stove for our previous home and planned this spot for it during the construction of our present home sixteen years ago. She is definitely a keeper! Here is another view of the kitchen stove, and you can see the other end of the island where I display seasonal dishes, or other kitchen chotskies.A kitchen tour wouldnât be complete without a little real life. Iâm sure everyone has that one spot in their kitchen that is a catch-all for all the things. This is our âdrop it hereâ space. I finally came up with this solution for mail, keys, charging cords, etc. I found this roll top enamel bread box on Amazon, and it keeps this space looking neat and tidyâ¦â¦…most of the time!Thank you for coming along for the Farmhouse Kitchen Tour! Hope you have a blessed day.  ~Penny
Beautiful! You’ve incorporated beautiful elements into your kitchen. The stove is over the top! Great inspiration since my husband and I are wanting to build an off grid home and wanting to know how to incorporate a stove like that. But wood burning. I love all the details. Love this post.
Thank you so much Esther! I appreciate your kind words so much!
